Commuted leave not exceeding half the amount of half pay leave due may be granted on medical certificate to any employee who are in regular service
subject to the condition that twice the amount of that commuted leave shall be debitable to the half pay leave due in his leave account.
Commuted leave for a period not exceeding ninety days may be granted to a central government employee during his entire service
when such leave is availed of for course of study which is certified to be in public interest by the Government.
No commuted leave may be granted under this rule unless the Government has reason to believe that the member of the Service will return to duty on its expiry.
Where a member of the Service who has been granted commuted leave resigns from service or, at his request, is permitted to retire voluntarily without returning to duty,
the commuted leave shall be treated as half pay leave and the difference between leave salary in respect of commuted leave and half pay leave shall be recovered.
Provided that no such recovery shall be made if the retirement is by reason of ill- health incapacitating the employee for further service or in the event of his death.
This leave is adjusted by deducting the total period of leave of the employee twice (for full pay) from the number of days available in half pay leave.
उदाहरण के रूप में अर्ध वेतन अवकाश को चिकित्सा प्रमाण पत्र के आधार पर परिवर्तित कर पूर्ण वेतन पर परिवर्तित अवकाश लिया जा सकता है।
इसके अतिरिक्त पति/पत्नी के नियोक्ता के विभाग से अनुमोदित अस्पतालों/चिकित्सकों द्वारा जारी प्रमाणपत्रों के आधार पर चिकित्सा संबंधी कारणों से अवकाश की अनुमति दी जा सकती है।
